– No clear primary topic, the given name has 2,530 views but Wendy's has 34,373, the singer has 11,049, the film has 2,547, the sing has 507, the TV series has 201, the village has 70, the storm list has 10 and the ship has 2[[1]]. Google, Images and Books seem mixed with uses other than the given name coming up most. By long-term significance the given name probably is primary as many of the other uses are probably derived from it though not the village. • Support I frankly can't see how a disembodied given name is the primary topic for anything. This is an encyclopedia, not a baby-naming site. Walrasiad (talk) 19:18, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Wendy's is a different title that relatively few people would call Wendy, so isn't really relevant, but Wendy (singer) and Wendy (film) get more pageviews, so the name is certainly not the WP:primary topic. The name page could be moved to the more concise Wendy (name), though, since it mentions that Wendy has sometimes been a surname and there is no separate article covering the surname alone. Station1 (talk) 20:31, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I think we would be better keeping the given name and surname separate and just keep the people with the surname on the DAB until a surname article is created. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:53, 13 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. The given name is the clear primary topic. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:09, 19 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. I agree with Necrothesp that the given name is far and away the clear primary topic. Usage in any other sense falls far behind, with surnames being rare and placenames almost unheard of. The songs, TV shows, films, and tropical storms, even the restaurant name, are all derived from the given name itself. BD2412 T 01:33, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. There is no primary topic here. Rreagan007 (talk) 06:50, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. The fast food chain is not named Wendy, and the entertainment entries don't have long-term staying power. Clarityfiend (talk) 00:03, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support There's no clear primary topic here, per nom. SportingFlyer T·C 09:01, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose: Wendy (given name) fails WP:PT1, as repeatedly noted above, but it passes WP:PT2. There's no clear single winner for PT1, and any such winner would be derived from the given name anyway, so the given name is best overall. jlwoodwa (talk) 06:42, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Neutral: This is a surprisingly tricky one. I originally thought I was going to oppose pretty quickly, but the pageviews do signify that even excluding name entries, the film is still a topic readers are currently looking for. Will it be that way down the line? I don't think so, but even then we may have another Wendy or one of our Wendys might have wildly risen in prominence. • https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Wendy indicates that in June, there were ~3.5k incoming views, of which there were 90 outgoing clicks to the hatnote (~2.5%), which is high up at #2, though overall it scattered to 41 destinations with 10+ clickstreams (and who knows how many more below that). I don't quite think this is indicative of a bad navigation for the average reader. Fundamentally, why exactly do we think that we need to start catering to the ~2.5% of people who click on the hatnote compared to ~97.5% who don't? --Joy (talk) 09:29, 28 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nomination, Walrasiad, Station1, Rreagan007, SportingFlyer and per issues raised in "Neutral" vote by Skarmory. There are 15 entries listed upon the Wendy (disambiguation) page, with no indication that the given name holds such a profound advantage that it overwhelms the combined notability of the remaining 14 entries. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:56, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Roman Spinner the fact that there are 41 outgoing destinations with 10+ clickstreams at "Wendy", and 4 outgoing destinations of the same quality at "Wendy (disambiguation)" (cf. [2]) isn't an indication? Or that the most commonly clicked link at the disambiguation page is the name itself? --Joy (talk) 15:50, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
In May, the film was the most commonly clicked outgoing link. In both May and June, the name article received far fewer clicks than other uses combined. Station1 (talk) 19:12, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and we've had this discussion before. There is no proof whatsoever that the outgoing navigation graph in the bottom part of WikiNav is more important than the top graph. It's especially jarring to be overanalyzing it at the disambiguation page, which only got a total of 128 views, and ignore it at the base page, which got a total of ~3,500 views. --Joy (talk) 20:25, 1 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've checked https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Wendy again after a few months.

In October '23, 3.5k incoming views, 1.1k outgoing, and the hatnote was #1 with 157 identified clickstreams (~4.5%), then Wendy Darling with 139 (~4%), in a total of 38 identifiable outgoing destinations. We only see down to #20 which had 17. --Joy (talk) 11:35, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Also mass views links:

The listing of the mononymously named singer there is a pretty weird artifact of WP:NAMELIST. --Joy (talk) 11:39, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
