editI've modified the account of the origin of the name Wensleydale slightly. "Wensley" isn't just a derivative of Woden, it actually contains two place name elements. I'm not even sure whether it's relevant to discuss the origin of "Wensley" at all, since "Wensleydale" would be a later formation based on the village name and the local name for a valley. It would probably suffice in this article to state that the valley is named after the village, and for the article about the village to go into the origin of "Wensley" in more detail. As it stands, it strikes me as a bit like discussing the Viking origins of "Jorvik" in an article about New York.130.194.218.109 (talk) 01:13, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
"The other film connection is even cheesier." A bit frivolous in tone, although a big fan of W&G myself. 66.77.144.8 21:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
