editThe Library is now known as Pensacola Public Library. All non-Escambia County Libraries have been renamed the Santa Rosa County Library System. That should be reflected on this page.
Still West Florida Regional Library as far as I know
editAround city hall and even in official city briefings it's still referred to as the "West Florida Regional Library System."
The Library System, however, will not even be the responsibility of the City of Pensacola soon enough, as all property and responisibility will be handed over to the Escambia County government. Pat 22:43, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I am a marketing and communication specialist for West Florida Public Libraries and would like to request some changes to this page.
1) Change the name of the page to West Florida Public Libraries.
West Florida Public Libraries or WFPL is comprised of seven libraries and bookmobile service within Escambia County, FL. [1] Therefore, the name "West Florida Public Library" is inaccurate.

3) Update Funding and Administration to reflect the board of governance has five, not nine, members.
West Florida Public Libraries is overseen by a Library Board of Governance. The Board is comprised of five members. The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners appoints three members; the Council of the City of Pensacola appoints one member; and the Mayor of Pensacola appoints one member. [3]
4) Update Services Provided to reflect new book club at Southwest Branch Library
Book Clubs: Pensacola Library, Tryon Branch Library, Molino Branch Library and Southwest Branch Library feature monthly book clubs. [4]
5) Add a section about Friends of the West Florida Public Libraries
The Friends of West Florida Public Libraries is a non-profit, community organization that has supported the library for more than 40 years. This organization promotes the library through library advocacy, creative learning and providing literacy support. Each year, the Friends of West Florida Public Libraries sponsor books sales, including $5 bag sales. [5]
