Some disentanglement is needed. These three were separate entities:

West London Railway. Started 1836 as The Birmingham, Bristol & Thames Junction Railway, was renamed West London Railway. Service began in 1844. Closed the same year. Leased in 1845 and used only for freight.
West London Extension Railway authorsed in 1859 to extend WLR line to Clapham Junction. Pax service reintroduced.
West London Line in essence the tracks combined of the WLR and the WLER from then on despite the fates of the successors to the founding companies.

There is a confus-ing/-ed linking and redirecting between the three in WP--SilasW (talk) 15:41, 3 June 2010 (UTC).Reply

I quite agree; I've made a start on writing an article on the historical railways, leaving the present day at West London Line Afterbrunel (talk) 20:46, 2 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
