It is now named West Melanesian Trench (Marine Gazetteer)and other authors have used name Melanesian Trench. Manus Trench definitely appears to be out of favour. There is also Manus Trough and Sillon Ouest-Mélanésien as well as a couple of Russian names. To ensure consistency with latest literature sources and geology updates to minimise redirection moving on, I felt it appropriate to do a move without discussion. Can't see any downside as perhaps increases chance article will be improved beyond stub. Hope thats Ok with others and if rapped over knuckles will not do again ChaseKiwi (talk) 22:25, 5 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
