Move back to orginal Interstate 268(Proposed). That would be its number when completed and where it should be. Never heard of it called West Run Expressway, and it is on the East side of Morgantown, which makes this title confusing. --71Demon 00:17, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- 575 Google results for "West Run Expressway". Nothing relevant found when searching for "I-268" or "Interstate 268". It presumably runs along a river named West Run. You have yet to produce any sources that show that it is now being called only I-268. --SPUI (talk) 00:28, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
According to the first google link there: "Charleston, West Virginia – The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) announced today that it would suspend further work by its consultant doing the study on the West Run Expressway." According to this, there is no more "West Run Expressway," it is a dead project. The project is being picked up as I-268, which is why this entry is not valid.--Drunski 02:03, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
- So please give a reference about the I-268 project. --SPUI (talk) 02:54, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
Quick Delete change my vote from move to quick delete. The West Run Expressway project was officially terminated by WVDOH on 2 March 2001, therefore this entry has no reason to be here. The Current administration has interest in building the Morgantown bypass and are refering to it as Interstate 268. As a West Virginian working with WVDOH as a member of the Mineral County Planning Commision, and the Route 50 Association Federal Funding Committee of have heard WVDOH officials in Charleston refer to it as I-268. The current admininstration wants it as an Interstate to encourage Shunpiking the PA Turnpike for Economic growth along Interstate 79 and Interstate 68. --71Demon 12:23, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
A note to all the editors involved in this dispute
editI have come in as a neutral editor to stop a fight from breaking out between people who should be discussing their differences rather than acting on them. Please place any request to alter the article here and if there is no objection to your suggestion then I (or another admin) will by all means alter the article to your requirements. I'm sure you understand that if we do anything without prior agreement here it may be perceived that we are taking sides and as a neutral party we can't do that. -- Francs2000 14:59, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
I-268 Reference after the killing of the West Run on 2 March 2001
editWill the WVDOT still consider an unrevised 2020 Transportation Plan for Monongalia County sufficient for addressing continuing and emerging needs in the central city and for addressing expanding congestion north, south, east and west within the County? With today’s WVDOT funding limitations, increased costs, many significant changes in the Morgantown area, and the local concerns about the I-268 project, are not major revisions in Plan’s project priorities called for to address needs which affect the entire population?-Dominion Post on November 16, 2002
http://www.takesurvey.com/yourinc/don/openletter.htm He also refers to it as West Run, but that is understandable as it replaces the West Run project in pretty much the same location. --141.157.157.100 21:00, 5 October 2005 (UTC)

Bah
editEmailing WVDOH gave me nothing useful:
From: John Morrison Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2005 8:23 AM To: Ali Sadeghian Cc: Dave Bodnar Subject: FW: West Run Expressway status? This project was under design study and it was put on the hold at this time. Thank You -----Original Message----- From: SPUI Sent: Friday, October 07, 2005 12:35 PM To: Info Subject: West Run Expressway status? What is the current status of the West Run Expressway project? I have seen references to an Interstate 268 performing the same function - is it still called the West Run Expressway or has the project been renamed? Thanks for any information.
Please, if any of you has a reference to the current plan, PLEASE PROVIDE IT. --SPUI (talk) 20:17, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
RFM result
editThere appears to be no consensus here. The move request was:
- Move West Run Expressway to Interstate 268(Proposed) state official website shows the West Run Expressway project dead on 2 March 2001 http://www.wvwestrun.com/media/releases/030201_study.htm After the killing of the West Run project politians begin refering to the New project as Interstate 268 http://www.takesurvey.com/yourinc/don/openletter.htm It is confusing, because the new project will follow the same path. The point is the West Run Expressway name is officially dead and even if it had been completed it still would have been Interstate 268 --71Demon 13:30, 9 October 2005 (UTC)
Feel free to refile when there is a consensus - thanks and take care! Ryan Norton T | @ | C 13:24, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
Factual error
editI have been deeply involved with West Virginia highway projects, and can verify that Interstate 268 is not a proposed road within the state of West Virginia. The West Run Expressway is a continuation of the Mon-Fayette Expressway (PA 43) in Pennsylvania, and will be signed WV 43 in West Virginia. It will only be a few scant miles long, with construction beginning in 2010. Currently, traffic utilizes CR 859. I will refile this and ask for this article to be deleted, and for the West Run Expressway page to have its redirect removed. A WV 43 redirect would work instead. I also have sources for these statements, from executive summaries to planning documents... Seicer (talk) (contribs) 02:37, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Never mind. I'm confusing way too many projects here.
- As a side note, anyone know the status of the Cowpath Expressway that was proposed in the Morgantown area? I haven't seen a news article for over a year. Seicer (talk) (contribs) 04:40, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
