Why the extension?
editAnyone know the purpose of the extension from Moorefield along existing routes to Calvin, just so it could run on its own (on what had been part of WV 150, earlier WV 43, earlier part of WV 15) to Muddlety? It's certainly not the best route to get there (if you don't want Interstates, that would probably be via either WV 15 or WV 84) or the most scenic (WV 150, ahem). --NE2 10:29, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think it was originally done as a tourism thing although it's definitely not been marketed as such in the 11 years since I moved to the state. With the coming of US 48, there really is no reason to keep the part east of the Highland Scenic Highway corridor and maybe even the part east of Calvin. FWIW, West Virginia had (and still sort of has) a thing for long useless multiplexes. Aside from WV 55, WV 92 is probably the biggest remaining example. Bitmapped (talk) 04:58, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
