editI don't believe that this company belongs in the Earthquake project. Sticking 30 pounds of TNT down a hole 100 feet into the ground is hardly an earthquake.--Two way time (talk) 02:50, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
The correct name of the company is "WesternGeco", not "Western Geco", so I moved the page. Gwimpey 07:22, Nov 15, 2004 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Western geco.gif
editImage:Western geco.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Section NPOV - Management
editLooks like a disgruntled employee or ex-employee contributed the somewhat ungrammatical :) "Management" section. Perhaps someone could rewrite? Apologies for leaving spelling errors and everything, I tried correcting them but my connection is a bit intermittent at the moment :( --62.97.226.230 03:41, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
I would like to say that the Management section very accurately sums up my personal career experience with WesternGeco after the takeover. I do not know who wrote this part though. Erika —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.109.51.3 (talk) 09:15, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
The disgruntled author has ignored the roll of Baker Hughes and other parties in the pension matter, also there was an exodus of management personal from the former Western Geophysical management who were supposed to be protecting the interest of the Western Geophysical employees in the joint venture. The comments are not appropriate for the encylopedia format. It should be noted that the Western Geophysical company had a turnover problem for years. --Two way time (talk) 20:31, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
This guy is the president of the company. This article is up for deletion currently. Editors are welcome to comment. Ikip
