edityou can blame our librarian. she's trying to prove the point that we shouldnt use wikipedia because people can change stuff. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.59.181.136 (talk • contribs) 20:52, January 26, 2005
Wow. Mrs. Pietras is writing this page? Fantastic. As a long-long-ago former W.A. student who remembers Mrs. P. this gave me a laugh. She would be against Wikipedia on principle. The whole point of Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it and anyone can revert to an older page. You should tell her that using ANY encyclopedia as a source is poor scholarship- encyc's are just there to point you in the direction to far more rigourous primary sources. In any event, I removed and rearranged some of the pages slavish devotion to the Westford Knight (the page made it seem as if it was an actual historical fact) and mentioned some of Westford's cultural landmarks. To say that Westford has no "notable cultural" blah blah blah isn't really true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.225.131.98 (talk • contribs) 00:29, March 14, 2005

editWell, she had honest intentions, but apparently the system works. But hey, Mrs. Pietras is the man. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.188.117.5 (talk • contribs) 21:01, January 26, 2005
You can congratulate your librarian on her poor judgement, and refer to Wikipedia:Replies to common objections in the future. silsor 02:23, Jan 27, 2005 (UTC)
- Please inform Mrs. Pietras that you're not allowed to disrupt Wikipedia to prove a point. -02:24, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Notable inhabitants
editI added Edgar Allan Poe, Charles "Chip" Collins, and J. Geils to notable westford inhabitants and someone removed them. If a WBCN disk jockey is considered notable, surely these people are. If this vandal does not believe that Poe lived in Westford, then he has not seen the historical stone raven marker on Graniteville Road that says so!

Of course, they could also go see the "Westford Knight" marker for 'proof' the Viking visited Westford. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.36.195.71 (talk • contribs) 21:04, October 14, 2006
Abbot Worsted Company
editSomeone needs to take a photo of and write an article about the Abbot Worsted Company —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.30.0.129 (talk • contribs) 11:16, November 23, 2006
And isn't the Apple Blossom Parade and Carnival in May, not April? The snare 02:40, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
"Project Westford"
edit"Project Westford" doesn't belong in the Town of Westford page. Also, what happened to the government section. It has been entirely removed. Eh?
Removed paragraph on project westford
editThe following section was removed recently as not being notable and not cited. While it isn't cited, I don't agree it is not notable.
- Early in Kennedy's presidency, Project Westford, funded by the Air Force, became a brief issue in the United Nations. The Soviet Union was concerned with possible crowding of the ionosphere due to the launch of hundreds of millions of less than (~1/3) hair-thin, 1.5 inch long copper dipoles. These dipoles collectively provided passive support to Project Westford's parabolic dish (located in the town) to communicate with distant sites. Then UN Ambassador Adlai Stevenson studied the published journal articles on Project Westford. Using what he learned on the subject and citing the articles he had read, he successfully allayed the fears exhibited by the vast majority of UN ambassadors from other countries. He and the articles explained that sunlight pressure would cause the dipoles to only remain in orbit for a short period of approximately three years.
What do others think? WilliamKF (talk) 22:16, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think it might be more sutable on the article for Haystack Observatory since that's where it would've taken place, and a link could be made from the Westford article. In any event, I don't think it should be posted at all until it contains at least one credible citation. Parcanman (talk) 22:21, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Kimball's
editThe brief part about Kimball Farm should be revised; as is, it's a blatant advertiseme —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.68.134.1 (talk) 16:45, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

editI think the description of the Westford CAT is a little long, perhaps this could be placed in it's own article? Parcanman (talk) 19:08, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
Population
editDoes the population census update every 10 years? If so, I will change my edit. Thanks for your help in advance! Zzendaya (talk) 02:57, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
2020 census population
editNot really a big deal but the 24,817 number is from the "Massachusetts Census" not the actual one. The real US census number is 24,643.
