Helen Levis
editI have some doubt that Helen Levis was involved in the 1903 founding, she was not at the formal opening ceremony. It is clear that the new Vincent Square building was built as a memorial to her by Sir Robert Mond perhaps a confusion somewhere? MilborneOne (talk) 18:03, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- Agreed: I have re-ordered the text but please feel free to amend it further. Thanks. Dormskirk (talk) 18:36, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks I have found an obituary for Mond in 1938 where it says "Sir Robert was twice married. His first wife, a daughter of Mr. Julius Levis, died in 1905; he founded the Infant's Hospital, Vincent-square, Westminster, in her memory" so certainly founded (and paid for) the Vincent Square Hospital but probably not the original Hampstead Hospital. - "Mrs Robert Mond" appears to have some association with the original Denning Road hospital, she was recorded as being at a meeting of "The Infants' Health Society" in May 1904, it had be formed on 11 February 1904 to support the Hospital. MilborneOne (talk) 20:04, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
