– If you look at pageview data, there's no primary topic. In fact, the most prominent two topics are Whaley Bridge and Whale Island, Hampshire. Duckmather (talk) 03:21, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- Leaning opposed: I have some sympathy for this, but the article about Whale Island, Hampshire, does not say it is ever referred to as 'Whaley', and thus the topic fails WP:DABMENTION. I think people would refer to Whaley Bridge as "Whaley Bridge", not as "Whaley". Also, Whaley Bridge is in Derbyshire, so if they call it "Whaley", then "Whaley, Derbyshire" has the same ambiguity as "Whaley" does. Whaley is only one mile away from Whaley Thorns (according to what the Whaley article says), so probably no one would refer to Whaley Thorns as "Whaley", because that would confuse everyone. (This, of course, assumes the information in the Whaley article is correct – both the Whaley and Whaley Thorns articles are not well-sourced.) The same with the lake – it would be called Whaley Lake, not "Whaley". These are just partial title matches. — BarrelProof (talk) 05:14, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- Weak support but note Whaley Bridge is also in Derbyshire so if we're moving because of that wouldn't Whaley, Bolsover be better? Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:21, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
