Recent revert to redirect
editI'm not clear why the creation of this disambiguation page was reverted. The edit summary stated "We do list redirect pages at disambiguation pages." If this was intended to be "We do not list redirect pages at disambiguation pages," then I would point out that this is untrue and direct your attention to WP:DABREDIR, specifically: "Linking to a redirect can also be helpful when the redirect contains the disambiguated term and could serve as an alternative name for the target article." In any case, whether or not the redirect is used, Where Has Love Gone? does appear to be an alternate title for the film, and there are two other articles using the same title, so a disambiguation page is a better use of the page than a redirect to one particular use that does not appear to qualify as a primary topic.--ShelfSkewed Talk 14:20, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- In my second revert, I referred to WP:PIPING. Anyhow, Where Has Love Gone? is no more than an original translation by an editor, and has never been used as an alternative name for either the film or the album. --Jaan Pärn (talk) 14:37, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- IMDb lists the film under the title Where Has Love Gone?, which it lists as the "International (English title)". If the film has never actually been known by this title, then that information should be removed from the article, and if album also has never used this title, then the article should be moved. But as long as the ambiguous titles remain, the dab page should exist to point to them. If the articles for the film & album are changed, then, rather than Where Has Love Gone? being a redirect to the song, the song article should be moved to that title.--ShelfSkewed Talk 14:47, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- IMDB is edited by random subscribers and should be verified even more carefully than Wikipedia. The 'international (English) title' is not cited and could just be mirroring the very article in Wikipedia. Perhaps you can help move that article under this name. --Jaan Pärn (talk) 15:15, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- Looking at this a little more closely, I see from the illustration in the article that the album does have the English-language title on its jacket, so in this case we do have a legitimately ambiguous title. Are you certain that the film has never been known by this title? I'm going to do a little research.--ShelfSkewed Talk 15:30, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- I am not certain, just doubtful and therefore negative until proven positive. You are right about the album sleeve, the alternative title may stay. --Jaan Pärn (talk) 16:59, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
