On Tour?
I seem to recall attending a touring version of the gameshow, although it wasn't recorded and they cut the Final round(tough to have a kid running around in a Mall) I even still have Greg Lee's autograph somewhere. Does anyone know when this took place or any sources other than anecdotal so it can get added to the article? Xtopher (talk) 07:17, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Bonus round changes
Does anyone have information Re: a different version of the bonus round, possibly from the pilot? I know I saw a version where flags had to be matched up to the right country. --David Bixenspan 04:18, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- These were very early episodes; instead of a simple rotating light on a stick, the markers consisted of flags with fluorescent lights embedded in the flagpoles, which would light up when placed correctly. --Goldrushcavi 04:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Who played Carmen?
Who played the famous Lady in Red? There's no listing for her in the cast list. Janet6 20:59, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Title has a question mark in it
The correct spelling had a ? at the end of the title. 172.189.174.102 20:57, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
(Crook's Name)'s Jailtime Challenge
On some episodes, after the contestant founded the loot, warrant, and crook, Rockapella will drop a variety of objects (like coffee beans, feathers, confetti, cotton balls, etc.) to transport the contestant to the chief's office to get the warrant to arrest the crook. Look in the script:
(The warrant in the Cheif's office is finish printing)
Rockapella: Ba Da Da Da Daaaaaaaa, Ahhhh Ahhhh Ahhhhhhhh (the win music for "(Crook's Name) Jailtime Challenge")
(the object drops from the celling)
(Chief is dissapointed)
Chief: Who dropped (named of object), in my office!
Rockapella: We Did, Chief! And look who's here....
(The contestant fades in)
It's (Contestant's Name) who is going to get the warrant to arrest (crook's name)!
Chief: Well what did you know. (Contestant's Name), you did a wonderful job on founding the loot, warrant, and (crook s name) in that order. Here is the warrant that is needed to arrest him/her. Hand that to Greg and (Crook's Name) is captured!
(The Cheif hands the contestant the Warrant)
Contestant: Thank You Chief!
Chief: Oh one more thing, i will reward you 30 Crime Bucks for arresting the crook.
(Chief hands the contestant 30 Crime Bucks)
Chief: Now, off you go!
(the object drops as the contestant leaves the office)
Chief: I have to clean my office up.
(The Contestant heads to the jail where the plunger is located, and Greg is standing next to it) (The contestant hands the warrant to Greg)
Greg: Thank You! Let me put the warrant in the slot. And on the count of three, you will pull that plunger to put (crook's name) in jail. 1.......2............3!
(Contestant pulls the hanger)
(Crook's animation appears and the jail doors closed)
Rockapella: (Crook's Name)'s, in jail!
This practice was discontinued in 1994, where the warrant is printed from the contestant's podium, and Greg handed the contestant 30 crime bucks after the contestant pulled the plunger to arrest the crook.
Actually, I don't remember that ever happening. Nor do I remember the 30 extra crimebucks.
WQED-TV only airs this part, after Rockepella does "ba Da da da daaaa....", it cuts to the contestant going to the jail and hands the warrant to Greg.
I'm from the WQED-TV broadcast area. As I recall, the winning contestant always went to the chain and pulled it (cut to jail locking animation). No mention of extra crimebucks, no warrant printed out or being handed to Greg, nothing like that at any point in the show's run.
What are the magic words that Greg said before the contestant pulls the chain?
---A lot of the information about the show in this wiki article is just flat out inaccurate. I've tried editing before, but it keeps getting edited back. I don't know who keeps putting this false information into the article, but I wish wikipedia would do something about it.
- All of this information sounds completely false; even if it were true, it would qualify as fancruft and wouldn't be appropriate for the article. In addition, everyone please remember to "sign" all of your postings and comments by typing four tildes (~) after your post. Thanks! --Goldrushcavi 04:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
This sounds suspiciously like fan fiction. TLEberle (talk) 04:32, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Carmen Sandiego on GSN?
According to the section marked "Episode Status", GSN does not have the rights to air "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?".
- Whoever is going around putting these "episode status" sections into every single game show page that tell whether or not GSN supposedly has the rights to air said shows needs to cut it out. The problem is only made worse by this character/these characters speculating on whether or not GSN will actually air the episodes if they have them, which is completely unencyclopedic. Carrying on... --Goldrushcavi 04:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
Since Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego is owned by PBS, and GSN is a commercial cable network. If Carmen Sandiego airs on GSN, the network would have to chop out some stuff, to add some commercials.
Examples:
- 1. The Comedy Break
- 2. The Chief reading the consolation prizes for the eliminated contestants.
- 3. The Footage before (Crook's Name)'s Jailtime Challenge
- 4. The Funding Credits
GSN may remove the funding credits, all refrences to WGBH Boston and WQED Pittsburgh, and go to the next show.
- This right here is more speculation... and even if it were fact, why would this information be important for an encyclopedia reader to know? Moving on... =--Goldrushcavi 04:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
But I think it'd be terrific is Carmen Sandiego came to GSN since it hasn't been seen in rerusn since October 1996, that's over 10 years ago, so It's gonna happen
- Personal opinion isn't welcome on WP either... even on talk pages. See Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines for rationale --Goldrushcavi 04:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
I made a pitch about that show. Try finding it on YouTube, and you will see it. Type "Carmen Sandiego Pitch" on the Search, and then you will see it.
- That's great for you, but not appropriate to announce or link to on Wikipedia. --Goldrushcavi 04:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
The only network for this show is PBS and all PBS cable networks. I'd rather not see anyone cut the best parts of the show. 97.100.85.82 (talk) 21:23, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Where's the Rockapella voiceovers
PLEASE! You removed it. Don't you want to forget ALL about these silly phrases? We NEED this for memories. Meemmorriees... Don't forget about trivia. -- OooohTheChase
- I hope you're being sarcastic. Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. See also Wikipedia:fancruft. --Goldrushcavi 04:13, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Foreign Versions
Like most gameshows, this little program managed to export itself to other areas of the globe. The article already says the show was aired in Italy and Spain (though we don't have the evidence to prove it...) But aired elsewhere. According to List of Quebec television series imports and exports, Canada had a french version called, "Mais ou se chache Carmen Sandiego". IMDB says it aired on tele-quebec in 1993. According to the German version of wikipedia the show aired in Germany in 1994 on ARD. --Fantastic fred (talk) 22:47, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Before annyone asks, I can't speak German so that whole "the show aired in Germany" part was just an assumtion.--Fantastic fred (talk) 22:52, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- It is said that the show aired in Italy. This may be true and I've found an Italian version of the theme song.--Fantastic fred (talk) 04:15, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- Also there seems to some talk of the Italian version of the show on the Italian version of Wikipedia--Fantastic fred (talk) 04:23, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

In the interest of sharing information (and since the quebecois title has been translated), the German title "Jagd um die Welt - schnappt Carmen Sandiego" roughly translates to "Hunt around the world - catch Carmen Sandiego." KyrieEleison (talk) 09:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
The show also seems to have aired in New Zealand--Fantastic fred (talk) 00:16, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Tahare Campell's Return
I added the name of the episode where Tahare Campell returned after a geographic error. Is it true? Please answer right here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.213.244.162 (talk) 16:40, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Good article
Wow. Whoever wrote this, congrats. It's more complete than I could have ever hoped for, and each paragraph brings back wonderful memories. Bob the Wikipedian (talk • contribs) 05:06, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- You can use the episode guide and try different episodes to see if they've been uploaded to DailyMotion yet. That will bring even more memories back.98.209.67.70 (talk) 22:15, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Crooks
Shouldn't there be a section with some mention of all the crooks who were featured in the series? I can think of at least a few, including:
Top Grunge, Vic The Slick, Eartha Brute (might be a play on the musician Eartha Kitt's name), Patty Larceny (an obvious play on the criminal terminology, "petty larceny"), Double Trouble, Robocrook (a possible play on the character RoboCop, from the movie series), Sarah Nade, Contessa, Wonder Rat, and Kneemoi. 216.157.195.66 (talk) 17:46, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
"Jailtime Challenge"
Where did this name come from? I've never heard it anywhere outside of this article, and it was certainly never used on the air. I've removed it from the article, and I would hope it will stay removed until someone can source it. -TPIRFanSteve (talk) 01:08, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
