A fact from White House Christmas tree appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 8 April 2009 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:

Tree should be capitalized
editIt's a proper name tree. Not a blue tree but the Blue Room Tree. As it is in the intro and other christmas tree articles, so should the article and photo pic be with a T not t. Didn't want to revert and start an edit war. Admin please fix. 63.131.4.149 (talk) 13:54, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
P.S. Unless you re-word it to say "Christmas tree in Blue Room". Otherwise, should be Blue Room Christmas Tree. FYI only... 63.131.4.149 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:00, 16 December 2010 (UTC).
The Great Image Hunt
editSo I dug far and wide in the online world and found free-use images for nearly every Blue Room Tree since 1961.
Still missing are images for 1967, 1970 and 1973.
If anyone knows where to find a digital image or a hard copy of an image that can be scanned in of those Blue Room Christmas Trees it would be of great help to the article. There are most likely public domain (U.S. government created) photographs of all of those trees.
Also, there are a number of years that could do with better photographs, preferably showing the whole tree (it's fine if they show the President, the First Lady or both).
Needs better photos:
- 2013, 2011, 2009, 2008, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1993, 1991, 1982, 1979, 1975
There are probably a few others that could use better images too but some of them are pretty old and new images might be hard to come by. Again, we have images for the years listed directly above, but could use some better ones. There are also probably government created public domain images of all of those trees as well. - Meanwhile, the Commons category now has 74 free use images (including all the images in this article) for all you hungry journalists that are about to spend the early holidays sapping this article for information :-) Some of them aren't the greatest resolution but there are some really great historic images there.
