article needed?
editIs this article needed? I think all of the information in the first paragraph is already covered in chess, Rules of chess, chess set, and chessboard. The second paragraph has information that I don't think is anywhere else, but it could be merged into those articles or history of chess. Bubba73 (talk), 04:05, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- There is no article history of chess. It redirects to origins of chess, a subject that has nothing to do with the second paragraph of the present article. Krakatoa (talk) 08:14, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- OK, but rules of chess has a history section, and this is history about the rule of white moving first. Bubba73 (talk), 14:46, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
Chess novel
editIn the English translation of Stefan Zweig's "Chess" [ Schachnovelle, 1942 ] Black is said to have taken the first move in the game of the passengers versus the champion. I have not yet checked the German original as Kindle at amazon.de refused to sell it to a North American!
