Non-valid reference
editThe Wired reference is an ironic article: "At least we can all agree on one thing: The people who see the dress as white are utterly, completely wrong." Nicolas1981 (talk) 12:21, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- So we're just hinging the validity of the article on one line? Did you even read the rest? ViperSnake151 Talk 17:28, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
Contested deletion
editThis article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it has been proven that in its form in the photograph the colours are light blue and gold, and this should be allowed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.92.61.179 (talk) 13:27, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
Article name
editI'm not sure this is the best title. Perhaps something like What Color is this Dress? would be more appropriate, as that is how it was originally listed before it went viral, I think, and quite a few sources reporting on it are using a variation of that phrasing. —Torchiest talkedits 16:41, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not sure either. I was thinking about "The Dress (photo)", though I saw "Dressgate" trending and in use by sources too. But #whiteandgold is the hashtag that's been in use for the majority of this. ViperSnake151 Talk 17:11, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- I'm for "The Dress" in some way, simply because the hashtag being #TheDress used very frequently as well. Common referral among actual media has been "The Dress" ([1][2][3]) 69.73.10.197 (talk) 17:30, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think that "The Dress" would be more appropriate as I have seen it trending in many social networking sites, including Google+ and online newspapers. And the article has (Viral Phenomenon) attached to it. King Cobra (talk) 17:40, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Are we going to ignore the fact that there are two articles on this same subject? The Dress (viral phenomenon) is already made, though this one was first. Which one wins? Thatdee69 (talk) 17:44, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Go with "The Dress (internet meme)" or something like that. I'm now acquainted with the story (white and gold, to be sure), and "The Dress" is the common usage.--Milowent • hasspoken 17:59, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Someone else made The Dress (viral phenomenon) as a separate article. I propose just deleting that and moving this page to that title. ViperSnake151 Talk 18:55, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- Just merge the content over there and redirect this there, it'll be good. (possibly conflicted opinion)--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:10, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
- The title there is more-neutral than this one, after all. :-) --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:14, 27 February 2015 (UTC)

- I've WP:BOLDly moved this article to The Dress (viral phenomenon). Natg 19 (talk) 21:13, 27 February 2015 (UTC)
