Dense plot synopsis
editCan we try to make the plot synopsis less dense? I have yet to read the book, but it's impossible for me to read the plot without my eyes glazing over. --XndrK‽ 02:19, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Literary References
editThe book obliquely refers to several books, which I had included in the literary reference section (and have since been removed). While it doesn't say their names explicitly, it does describe them well enough to be about them. I'd like to restore them, but don't want to just revert the edit. Any guidance on what I should do to make it Wikipediantic? LlamaScout (talk) 21:02, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- Wikipedia doesn't accept original research, so unfortunately, you need a reliable source to backup any claims you make no matter how obvious the references are. (And the book itself doesn't count as a source, because it doesn't actually say "This is a reference to [book x]".) I've tried to find reviews of the book which explicitly describe Who Could That Be at This Hour's references before, and there are a couple that I've used to source the content currently in the section. But if coverage of the allusions don't exist, I'm afraid we just can't include the information here. There are other places the information might be accepted, though — like the Snicket Wikia page on the book. — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 21:13, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
