The WholeSecurity article comprises of 3 sentences. It is a stub, and likely to remain one; the last time it was edited was almost 4 months ago. Symantec used technologies developed by WholeSecurity in their Norton AntiBot product, now discontinued and unlikey to grow anymore. Merging the two would benefit both articles. Comments? March 11, 2009 - Hello TechOutsider! Norton AntiBot was comprised of technologies licensed from Sana Security. It was a standalone offering separate from the WholeSecurity technology. The WholeSecurity technology became SONAR which is integrated into the whole Norton line and continues on today. I worked at WholeSecurity for almost 2 years and know people that were there well after acquisition. SONAR and AntiBot are similar in functionality and target somewhat, but they are 100% unrelated from a code base standpoint. I believe that AntiBot has not been sunsetted by Symantec but am not sure. People may very well add to the WholeSecurity page in the future as their technology is still active. Thanks! -JF —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.25.175.163 (talk) 06:45, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
The "WholeSecurity code" has been dead for years, pretty much DOA. Wikiksec (talk) 00:56, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- SONAR survives, per http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Protection-Blog/What-s-New-in-Norton-Internet-Security-2012/ba-p/433160 so what makes you say the "WholeSecurity code" has been dead for years?
As for the merge, yes this article should be merged away - into AntiBotSONAR (Symantec). I'm doing it. DONE. --Elvey (talk) 19:14, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
