40th anniversary reunion

January the 5th marked 40 years for Wickety Wak with 14 new shows throughout Australia. John Power a representative for the band fully restored Video tapes from their 14 television specials long with audio session reels . This process started in December 2013 and took 14 months to complete. Many of the tapes were in formats long retired by the television industry and included formats like 1 reels, 2 Reels, Umatic , Betacam, Vhs , etc. Most of the tapes were covered in mould/dust from poor storage however most had been recovered . This process involved painstakingly cleaning each meter of tape by hand with a special solution to get the desired result . These were all restored and then transferred digitally onto digital Betacam format which has resulted in a new twin DVD 40th anniversary issue along with a new CD containing many rare and unreleased studio sessions . The result was remarkable . Many of these shows included WAKS WORKS 1(1983) , WAKS WORKS 2 (1984), WAKS WORKS 3(1985),WAK ABOUT AUSTRALIA(1987) and the BOONDALL 1990 SHOW . Suggested by John Power, it was decided to showcase the large body of visual work on a large screen which would be the feature of the 40th anniversary shows. During the live performances highlights from Wickety Waks television careers would be presented on a large video screen behind the stage . Peter Mackay was retired and the passing of Pahnie Jantzen meant that Rob Rosenlund, Greg Doolan and Tony Jeffrey along with Laura Doolan (Gregs wife) would present these shows. Paul Ewart the manager of the band made a return to promote the 40th anniversary shows and has been a key ingredient to the bands success in the 70's and 80's. The first shows sold out instantly and were a huge success with several more in advance at this time of writing also sold out. The 14 venue tour was extended with another show at Twin Towns on the Gold coast . Tone of article

Article does not have an encyclopedic tone. Reads as if someone with close connection with subject is using article to promote themselves. I've tried to maintain the article's tone for some time now, but someone keeps reverting the edits (I assume it's the self-promoter in question).
