- @Kafoxe and Sammi Brie: I'm not familiar with Legistorm. Is it considered a reliable source per WP:RS? Do we even need to cite it in the article? Cielquiparle (talk) 14:46, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Cielquiparle: I don't see any immediate problems with the site, and it appears to be used as a source on several other pages. Right now it's only being used to source Ainsworth's DOB. It's verifiably 3/22/81 based on social media posts, but I figured a site like Legistorm would be a better source than primary ones. Kafoxe (talk) 16:42, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Kafoxe and Sammi Brie: The birthdate may need to be removed. I'm not finding it anywhere else (such as the Will Ainsworth campaign bio page), and this is a BLP, so it's subject to BLP rules (see WP:BLP and WP:BLPPRIMARY; even though Legistorm is not exactly a "public record", it scrapes public record databases). The Legistorm subscription service allows individuals to "claim" their pages and modify personal information, although it says it does perform some verification checks to make sure the individuals are who they they are. I know it's frustrating but BLPs on Wikipedia often end up with no birthdate or year, even though there are third-party social media posts, etc., giving dates that probably are correct. Cielquiparle (talk) 17:08, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Cielquiparle: I found an article mentioning Ainsworth's year of birth as 1981 (Steve Flowers is an authoritative Alabama source), but if the March 22 part needs to be removed, that's understandable. Kafoxe (talk) 20:26, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Kafoxe: Great, could you please remove the March 22 part and swap Legistorm for the new source? (If another WP:RS compliant source is found in the future with the exact birthdate, it can always be re-added later.) Cielquiparle (talk) 03:15, 4 February 2023 (UTC)
