Generally a well written article that meets the GA criteria. Some comments:

  • Is the age of 26 at enlistment given in Moore?
    • There was no minimum age for enlistment though there had to be a satisfactory record of prior Marine service. Baker was 26 when he signed up, but he was by no means the youngest NSW Marine.
  • "even after they returned to Port Jackson in the 1800s" - but the article doesn't mention Baker being in Port Jackson in the 1800s, correct?
    • My terminology is unclear - have amended to "Sydney" to make clear I'm referring tot he larger settlement rather than simply the Port Jackson one. Baker remained in the Sydney area (ie at Windsor) until 1810, but not specifically at Port Jackson.
  • "On reaching Sydney Baker resigned his Navy position and sought opportunities as a farmer" - do we know why?
    • I'm not aware of any records indicating why, but I imagine it paid considerably more. Baker's post-Marine life suggests he was always on the lookout for monetary opportunity, and I suspect the idea of civilian wealth in NSW was the only reason he took the Navy job in the first place. But this is just a personal opinion - I have no sources to support it.
  • "management of the Windsor stores" - this is the first mention of Windsor and it's not entirely clear where this is
    • Fixed, apologies for missing this. Windsor is a township within Baker's Hawkesbury region.
  • "His hotel, the Royal Oak". In the previous section this is identified as a pub - perhaps mention there that it is both and just say Royal Oak here?
    • Sort of Dine. In both a current and historical Australian context, pub and hotel are similar - all pubs were hotels (though not all hotels were pubs). Removed the second descriptor as the one less accurate. -- Euryalus (talk) 22:25, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Is Moore 1987 a typo for Moore 1989 or is there an entry missing from References?
    • Fixed. Moore is 1987, it was a typo brought about by also using Gillen (1989)
  • No citations to Clouston Associates.
    • Fixed.

@Nikkimaria: - thanks for the review, hope the above and the edits to the article address the issues raised. -- Euryalus (talk) 15:24, 25 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
