Coat of Arms
editJust to note. William Clito if he bore any arms at all (which is not yet proven) would have used the fabled gyronny shield with an inescutcheon. The Lion was only introduced by one of the suceeding rulers of Flanders. If I still remember this issue tommorrow I will start stripping pre-heraldic counts of Flanders of their inapropriately attributed arms. I thought we'd solved this a while back.--Caranorn (talk) 22:32, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
Dates of Death and End of Reign
editThere is a month (exactly a month) between the reign as Count of Flanders, stated in the box on the right, and the date of his death. As some people get June and July easily confused, I thought to state it here, so the experts can correct this if necessary.--78.51.35.52 (talk) 19:25, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Resolved He died on 28 July, so I assume he stopped being Count of Flanders on that date too. Thank you for noticing. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:35, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Clito
editArticle reads, Both "Clito" and "Atheling" signified "man of royal blood", or the modern equivalent, "prince". Can that be documented? I'd love to see a source for that, and can't find one. 155.213.224.59 (talk) 15:49, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
