The result of the move request was: consensus to move the page to William Campbell (Scouting), per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 23:42, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
William D. Campbell → William Durant Campbell – there is also a Will D. Campbell I am nominating to move to Will Davis Campbell. There is a notable William Douglas Campbell who needs to be disambiguated at this middle initial. ScratchMarshall (talk) 00:12, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. Subject was known as "William D.", not as "William Durant", as confirmed by, among others, his alma mater Princeton and The New York Times. Same-named individuals are disambiguated via qualifiers and hatnotes, not through the use of little-known full names. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 00:57, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
Done as the original author, and per WP:BOLD, full names should be used when disambig is neededKintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:47, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Undone. What evidence do we have that he was known by this name? I can only see "William Campbell" in US Scouting magazine. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:10, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose move to William Campbell (Scouting) per Scouting magazine. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:22, 13 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. Support move to William Campbell (Scouting). -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:18, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
- The (Scouting) suggestion sounds like a good idea, I'll shift from my nomination to supporting that instead. ScratchMarshall (talk) 20:28, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
