Article name
editI've nominated this article for DYK and a reviewer suggested that it be renamed:
Also, the article needs renamimg per WP:MOS. DoB-DoD aren't usually used as disambiguators. Possibly William Downie Stewart (Australian Member of Parliament)
Well, maybe not the Australian bit. The complicating thing is that he shares his name with his son (who is the better known one) and they were both MPs. But I can't find anything on conventions for avoiding date of birth info in article names, so can't do anything about this request as yet. Can somebody please point me to a relevant policy? - Apologies! Australian → New Zealand. I am thoroughly embarassed. ;-) The actual title of the article isn't an impediment to passing the DYK, so don't worry about that. I only said this because I have seen a lot of articles disambiguated by dates moved to new titles per MoS. The idea being that dates are an unlikely search term. This one does present special problems in terms of disambiguation. I'd suggest seeking advice at Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation. But that's a longer term issue. My main concern was that the reference cited for the hook was a self-published website. Voceditenore (talk) 19:03, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Title change
edit@JackofOz: What's the reason for moving the article? WP:JR/SR clearly says that the full stop is used for North American English, and the version without the full stop is Commonwealth English. Schwede66 23:12, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks. I was not aware of that guideline. My apologies. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 23:25, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll move it back. No trouble (and it's impossible to know all WP rules). Schwede66 00:19, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
