Also, according to Michael Barkun (RELIGION AND THE RACIST RIGHT, Univ. of North Carolina Press, Chapel Hill, N.C., 1994), Pelley believed that Jews were literally descended from Satan. Advocacy of this sort of hatred was the centerpiece of his career.

Bias

The tone of this article is much too emotional, and attributes motives to FDR and others without evidence.

Henry Schwartz, "The Silver Shirts: Anti-Semitism in San Diego, 1930-1940," 26(1) Western States Jewish History, October 1992, pp.52-60.

"Pelley... moved to Southern California in 1928. Started his own advertising agency, sold real estate, published a magazine and wrote scenarios and novels that would later be made into motion pictures." 4th novel entitled "Golden Rubbish" introduced his political ideas. Article mentions Pelley throughout and is a reliable source. August 1935 Congressional Hearing by a Special Committee of the House on Un-American Activities Commission met in LA to look into Silver Shirt activities in Southern California may be another good source to expound on this subject. This citation is not entirely accurate. Wiki article quality

As it stands right now this article is low-quality, with some surprising omissions that look sloppy. Right now, for example, it reads that Pelley was arrested on sedition but fails to mention that he was a defendent in the Brown Scare trial--which being one of the most prominent sedition trials in the United States (ever) i am surprised to learn does not seem to have a wiki entry. Likewise it fails to mention that Pelley served time for violating terms of suspended sentencing. There is also no mention of Pelley's post-war UFOlogy efforts (George Hunt Williamson's earliest UFO writings are in Pelley's magazines), or Pelley's voluminous dabbling in "ancient astronaut" theory as early as 1930, literally decades before Von Daniken and his second-generation clones on the History Channel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.143.226.138 (talk) 07:57, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

You need reliable sources for any claims about the person. And recall also that this is an encyclopedia, not a collection of every factoid available ever published - this article makes clear who Pelley was, and what his positions were.
