I just removed this section from the main page because it is unsourced and not encyclopaediac BUT I wanted to preserve it, as it is potentially real information on a rare individual, and perhaps someone can get it properly sourced.

"His birth certificate states William Edward. I am the grandson of his brother Frederick Hayter Preston and was told by grandad he used the name Hayter from grandad .because it sounded better for William .s professional life. Hayter was a surname of ancestors related to Sir George Hayter Artist. William and Frederick were sons of Edward Everard Preston and were born at Newfoundpool, Leicester. later to live in Melrose Street, Leicester."
