"first white child born in Cincinnati"?

edit

I find that extremely doubtful. In History of Cincinnati, it is stated that, in 1790, "... the governor of the Northwest Territory ... changed the name of the settlement to 'Cincinnati' ... ". Mr. Fithian was. we are told, born in 1799, some nine years later. Methinks the reference (no. 1) is incorrect. Terry Thorgaard (talk) 13:30, 14 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

And in this source (https://web.archive.org/web/20100724122451id_/http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/crc/pages/-5928-/) I find that "... by the end of 1790, there were 50 cabins, a mill and a school in the settlement ..." which later that year would be named Cincinnati. With that many cabins, and a school, it is very doubtful that no "white children" (as opposed to Indian children, I assume) would be born for almost a decade. Madisonville, and daughter of Samuel Kitchell, as well as Major Daniel Gano. LOTS of claimants, all well before 1799. Conquerance (talk) 14:35, 14 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
