Currently expanding article based on Barbara Brill biography. Intend to convert references to notes system & provide page nos for all the references to Uglow.
A usable picture of William Gaskell needs to be sourced. The usual photograph of him standing holding his hat was taken by Rupert Potter (d.1914), which is public domain by 70 years rule but not 100 years. The usual portait is by W. Percy and is dated 1872; I cannot find Percy's date of death so the copyright status is unknown. One of them should probably be usable under fair use.
A public domain potrait of Elizabeth Gaskell is available dated 1832, but I'm holding off adding it until an image of William can be included. Espresso Addict14:46, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
That was what I initially assumed, as I believe 70 years is the copyright period in Florida as it is in the UK; however, using the current file upload system, for some frustrating reason, I can't find a license stating less than 100 years. Espresso Addict15:07, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
