- ... that William Nixon performed abortions in the NHS before the Abortion Act 1967? Source: Nixon...was prepared to provide abortions in the NHS [1] [2] note- he died 1966.
- Reviewed: Dress history
- Comment: Sorry, a day late, or maybe 5x expanded from 29 August. Is this okay please? Will add QPQ soon.

- Hi Whispyhistory (talk), review follows: a day late doesn't matter to me; a QPQ has been carried out; article created 28 August and exceeds minimum length; article is cited inline throughout to reliable sources; hook fact is interesting mentioned in article and checks out to sources cited. Looks good and I have approved. My only comment would be for a little detail in the article on the legality of these abortions; my initial assumption was that he was acting illegally. It looks like the source links it to the successful 1938 defence by Aleck Bourne under the Infant Life (Preservation) Act 1929 for the risk to the mental health of the mother? - Dumelow (talk) 14:44, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you @Dumelow:.... the story of Bourne is slightly different in Chamberlain's book, but you are right and I'll try and make clearer in the article. Whispyhistory (talk) 17:29, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
ALT1 ... that obstetrician William Nixon performed abortions in the UK before they became legal under the Abortion Act 1967?(need to get to the bottom of whether they were legal or not - the original hook is opaque on this point) Philafrenzy (talk) 20:43, 8 September 2023 (UTC)- Thanks both, I like the additional detail in the article. I think best to run with ALT0 as the abortions were deemed legal - Dumelow (talk) 11:51, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
