Should this entry be deleted?
editHow is this entry relevant or wikipedia worthy? This person does not seem to be a public figure, or someone who noteworthy enough to have an encyclopedia article written about them. I recommend deleting this entry, which appears like a thinly veiled attempt at self-promotion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.131.71.87 (talk) 01:21, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
"Net Worth"
editThe article is solely based on a guess where the author admits it's only that and does not have the complete information to make a correct number. Cladeal832 (talk) 01:52, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- As I have repeatedly stated, this is a misrepresentation of the cited source. As I have noted in a previous edit summary, the Forbes article Is Beto O'Rourke's Wife Really A 'Billionaire' Heiress? Not Likely states, "Based on the public information that Forbes has reviewed, Beto O'Rourke’s “billionaire” father-in-law is more likely to have a net worth in the neighborhood of $500 million". Forbes have collectively analysed the available information and arrived at an estimated net worth of $500 million. We should also bear in mind that Forbes is the pre-eminent reliable source when it comes to assessing the net worth of individuals, especially those from the US, and that such numbers can only ever be estimates. In order that other editors may more easily contribute to this discussion, I am restoring the cited content in the usual way until a consensus can be reached. - "Based on the public information" inherently means not all information. We have no clue as to his expenses or debts. Of course there are estimates, but he "public information" means a lack of other information and the whole point of the article is second guessing another reputable source. - Cladeal832's deletions are unjustified. In Wikipedia we go by WP:RS. Clearly not even WP:RS have access to full, omniscient information; we go by their editorial standards. Please cease disruption of the article. XavierItzm (talk) 19:30, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, XavierItzm. Editors should note that Cladeal832 has a long history of POV/COI editing on articles connected to Beto O'Rourke. Edwardx (talk) 10:20, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
- I have no conflict of interest or point of view. I am not paid from his campaign. I'm not saying vote for him and not saying don't vote for him or to vote at all. I don't question why people are adding this information. I'm questioning the accuracy of this information. The article makes clear it's an estimate and "Net Worth" doesn't factor in expenses and debts that he may occurred which is also mentioned in the article. Also the NTY conflicts his new information when he released his tax returns.Cladeal832 (talk) 02:39, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry, Cladeal832, but we have to go with what is published in reliable sources. If you can find another source that mentions a different networth, then please raise it here on the talkpage, rather than deleting well-cited content as you have done yet again. Edwardx

- I read the source being cited. It's an estimate and the author admits the data is incomplete.Cladeal832 (talk) 03:48, 3 April 2020 (UTC)
- But all net worth figures are estimates based on incomplete data - I fail to grasp what point you are trying to make. Edwardx (talk) 23:30, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
