India

edit

What is the relevance of the india section? It's poorly done, and doesn't seem to fit. I think we should remove it. Randomdestructn (talk) 02:27, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I've started tidying it up, but it needs a bit more work. peterl (talk) 10:19, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Brand Names & Advertising

edit

I'm removing the part about "Lustalux" and "Banwyke" companies. The part where these brand names are mentioned does not describe what window film is. I'm also adding a part about what window film/window tinting is. Besides I highly doubt anyone outside of the Lustalux company calls window tint "lustalux". False information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.15.145.215 (talk) 18:14, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Don't merge

edit

Window tinting deals only with auto film. Window film deals with all types of films. If anything, Window tinting should be merged into Window film. Denni 22:04, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I also say don't merge for the same reasons Denni mentions, plus factory tinted windows do not use film. Spalding 11:57, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Merged

edit

I've merged the article Window tinting into this page. The history of the merge source is visible at this link. The window tinting article exclusively covered the the use of window films in automotive applications, a subject which fits comfortably inside this article. At some point in the future it make make sense to break out an article on automotive glasses and films, but we simply don't have enough content now to justify it... in any case the title "window tinting" should not be used for an automotive focused page because "window tinting" is also often used to refer to the use of darkening films in commercial and residential applications. --Gmaxwell 04:57, 1 July 2006 (UTC) www.windowfilmpro.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.199.106.95 (talk) 20:33, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Installation

edit

I'm removing the part in reference to "the professionals" from a particular store which references their location. This is a advertising plug and not relavent to the article. First, tinters are not "professionals" as there is no professional association and accrediation. Secondly, this part would be properly written as a numbered reference, with a link to where they state their "professional" opinion, in the absence of this, it needs to be removed. Finally the advice on using a tinter who has experience and has been in business being adviseable is not related to tinting, it's common sense for any service or product.--Evilbred (talk) 16:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Commercial Websites

edit

Some users are loading adding commerical websites to this page which is undesirable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.120.68.73 (talk) 07:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

They may be commercial websites but so is tintdude.com if you think about it (selling ads from his traffic). The commercial sites being listed contain information on a product type not listed in this wiki (decorative for example) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.58.192.150 (talk) 15:25, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I understand that there is a no commercial website policy. Wikipedia should not be used to provide links to the 2 commercial websites. Please keep the article neutral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.169.41.34 (talk) 02:36, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Expanding the article

edit

The article needs to be expanded to include other types of window film. In its current state, the article is mostly referencing the type of sun control film used on car windows. There are at least 7 categories of window films: decorative films, sun control films (reflective metallized and non reflective ceramics and non metallized nanotechnology films), safety and security films (against bomb blasts, intrusion, etc), anti graffiti films (protection against vandalism), vinyl films (for privacy), counter intelligence films (might fall under the safety film category)and car window films. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.44.49.254 (talk) 20:42, 12 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Window_film#Removal should be rewritten to look like an encyclopaedic article. Hashan 05:33, 13 July 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gayasri (talkcontribs)
