Requested move 23 October 2018
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: No move. As noted, Wikipedia defaults to lower case prepositions unless the third-party sources are consistent, and they don't appear to be in this case. Cúchullain t/c 14:08, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
Wine to Water → Wine To Water – The official title of my organization has a capital To, not lowercase. Thank you! Julietderienzo (talk) 21:58, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:21, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Julietderienzo: But Wikipedia rules specify lowercase on prepositions with less than 5 letters. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:21, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
- The independent sources referenced in the article, that mention the organisation, use a lowercase t. Wikipedia policy is to use the name that is generally used in published sources. Maproom (talk) 07:02, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
- Inclined to leave as is, although it is a proper name, but I can find no policy or procedure which hits this head on. Capitalizing the "To" is a stylistic effect, so how does that relate to other stylistic choices in titles like eBay? Conversely, there is P!nk, which is simply mentioned as a stylization effect in the body of the Pink (singer) article.Onel5969 TT me 12:43, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose: Vanity styling not followed consistently in independent reliable sources (MOS:TM / WP:TITLETM). —BarrelProof (talk) 18:40, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
