To do to improve
editThis is a very good start. Other than the "red links" needing articles, here are additional way to expand the article:
- more on LaDuke's up-bringing that influenced her views
- more on LaDuke's political activism
- more on LaDuke's social activism
- more on LaDuke's environmental activism
- her bibliography
Comment
editI'm a college student at Regis University in Denver Colorado and recently Winona LaDuke visited my campus for a Public Policy event. Everything she spoke about was filled with a passion to create a better, more sustainable world. She also spoke about how many Native Americans are affected by environmental injustice. Her speech brought awareness to the issues that are going on in the world now, and how many activists are fighting for change.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.93.211.50 (talk • contribs) 14:25, March 14, 2006
"See also" listings
editI've removed most of the "See also" links. There were links to various causes, such as Fair trade, but if LaDuke has been involved in that, the subject should be addressed in the body of the article. A bare link to an article that doesn't mention LaDuke doesn't help the reader. JamesMLane t c 22:25, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- She operates a fair trade coffee company and is active in the local foods movement, with WELRP running a program that provides locally grown traditional foods to school on the rez for use in school lunches. This should probably be mentioned, but I'm probably not going to get around to finding the references to properly incorporate this into the article. In the meantime I'd support putting the See alsos back in, but I don't their removal as huge loss either. Yilloslime (t)
Too Promotional
editI stumbled across this article today because this woman was named in a friend's Facebook posting. It's a typical Wikipedia article written by the subject's friends and/or admirers, and lacks a neutral tone. But I'm not going to change it. Who needs the hassle? Unclear: Who did she run with in 2016?
editRalph Nader didn't run in 2016, so it wasn't with him as the first paragraph seems to imply. My only guess was Faith Spotted Eagle, since they're both Native American anti-DAPL figures, but that article mentions nothing about a vice presidential candidate.
Could use some clarification here.

The corresponding electoral vote for president went to Faith Spotted Eagle as you say, but I don't think either of them were actually running. It seems a little disingenuous to cast this as a vote for the green party, since she did not run under the green party (or at all as far as I can tell) in 2016.
