editwtf Why does the cover say Bam Entertainment? I live in the UK, my copy doesn't say that. It doesn't say Bam Entertainment anywhere. JD 16:39, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- That's who published it in the US. Perhaps it was published by a different company in the UK. — Wwagner 17:02, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Challenge Mode
editI think Challenge Mode was introduced by Wipeout 64, not Wipeout 3 as stated here. 194.221.212.20 14:54, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. As stated here. Now changed - RubyJester (talk) 17:51, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Criticism
editThis entire section not only fails to cite any sources, but also is nothing more than one editor's opinion of the game and either needs to cite sources or be removed entirely.ChronoSquall14 (talk) 18:01, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
the 'sense of speed' is very slow compared to previous WIPEout titles and should be mentioned — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.64.252.231 (talk) 09:28, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
Engine
editQuit listing the "engine" for games like this. You're guessing, and you're wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.33.43.30 (talk) 19:21, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

I'll take this one.--IDVtalk 19:16, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
Infobox
edit- The designer parameter is for people. According to the background/release section, it seems this parameter should just say Colin Berry.
- Thanks for spotting that, I completely missed this! Added Colin Berry. JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- Multiplayer should be lowercase.
Gameplay
editOverall, the game contains 45 race tracks, 32 ship models, 26 different weapons.
and 26 different weapons- I don't speak British English myself, so ignore this if I'm wrong, but is the semicolon placed correctly in
The other two race modes are "Zone" mode; which revolves around survival as the player's ship automatically accelerates to extreme speeds, and time trial mode, where the player may record best lap times.
? I would expect it to go after "accelerates to extreme speeds", separating the two items in the list (zone and time trial).- Semicolons and hyphens are sometimes used more frequently in British English, but in these cases you're right, and I have used them when I shouldn't have in this article. I've moved the semicolon after the "accelerates to extreme speeds" sentence. I think I may have rushed writing this. JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Background and release
edit- The release dates aren't mentioned here, and aren't sourced in the infobox. They should be added to this section with sourcing.
- Added release dates here, and sourced them. According to IGN, it was released a day after 18 June, not the 17th, so I've changed it to that. It's unheard of when gaming publications pin the release dates off by a day or two. JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Reception
edit- Again, if I'm wrong, please ignore this, but I'm unsure about the semicolon in
Rick Sanchez of IGN felt disappointed with the game's visuals; opining that its graphics
- a comma would feel more natural to me.- You're right, I don't know what I was thinking here. Replaced with a comma. JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
stating that the game's visuals had improved by "110%"
- since the previous Wipeout game? Since the last public showing of this one?- The review says "Wipeout Fusion is the true sequel to Wipeout", which makes no sense as he doesn't specify which one. It's logical to say that he's referring to its predecessor, Wipeout 3, so I mentioned that. JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
and pop-up issues.
- might be more understandable for people who are not really into games if it's changed to "graphical pop-up issues" or something similar.
Things I noticed that aren't part of the GA criteria
edit(collectively referred to as 'teams' in-game)
- I would probably simplify this to("teams")
.
- I would merge the two short paragraphs in background/release - one-sentence paragraphs make for a "choppy" reading experience.
- I would similarly try to do something about the short Metacritic paragraph.
- I've rephrased it slightly, but I can't expand it as it's a summary sentence. I only put those at the beginning of a reception section to summarise the game's average score, but let me know if you want me to remove it or merge it into the next paragraph. JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- It's a good practice to archive all web sources while they're still alive - GameZone could very well update their website and break all links to their articles, for instance.
- Archived all, except GameSpot which couldn't be archived for some reason. JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Comments
editLooking pretty good! I just have a few minor issues, as well as some questions about the usage of semicolons. I'll put this on hold for a week - if all issues are addressed by then, I'll promote the article to GA.--IDVtalk 13:40, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review, IDV! I've addressed all of the issues. This game is the black sheep of the series, so ultimately it's the shortest and last covered of the topic. It's a shame that it didn't get the press it deserved, but suffice to say I won't be taking this beyond GA. Thanks again! JAGUAR 20:20, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- Excellent, I'll promote it to GA now! --IDVtalk 20:31, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
