Song or single album?

Hello, I would like to suggest (not request) moving this page to Wish (single album). The reason why I haven't officially requested a move is because this is ambiguous to me. Wish is often referred to as a single album in the media and on the group's social media accounts. In Korea, Wish peaked on Circle's Album Chart with over 270,000 copies sold; and in Japan, it peaked on Oricon's Singles Chart with over 59,000 sales. So, should this article consider it a single album or just a single? HoneyKpop (talk) 18:08, 31 March 2024 (UTC)

A little late to reply but since "Wish" is released in both South Korea and Japan, it is considered a single album in South Korea, whereas in Japan where the term "single album" doesn't exist, it is considered a single. It's why you don't see "Wish" charting on the Japanese album charts, but it does in South Korean charts. You could create a separate page titled Wish (single album), but the info will be the same so it's kinda pointless. George13lol2 (talk) 09:15, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

@George13lol2: Japan still does have a term for this kind of release, called a "maxi single" to differentiate it from a regular single. Shouldn't we just transfer the article to be that of a maxi single then? The article already covers the rest of the album's tracklist so it's weird to consider this article to be for a song when its focus goes beyond the song itself. - K-popguardian (talk) 02:41, 13 July 2024 (UTC)

Most singles released in Japan are maxi singles, so it's nothing special. Typically an article covering a maxi single focuses specifically on the main track (other examples: Wing Wing, Supernatural (NewJeans song), One More Time (Twice song)), so that's just what I'm working off of.
