Beyonce version

edit

I first copy-edited and tidied, and then dedided to remove the following:

"Wishing on a Star"
Song

Beyoncé covered the song for her 2004 Live at Wembley DVD/CD, and it was later used for the 2005 feature film Roll Bounce. Her version was nominated for the "Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance" in 2006).

Official versions

edit
  • "Wishing on a Star" (album version)
  • "Wishing on a Star" (radio edit)
  • "Wishing on a Star" (Neptunes remix)
  • "Wishing on a Star" (K.O. remix)
  • "Wishing on a Star" (K.O. radio remix)

Sources

edit

The problem is that I can't find any other mention of this as a single, only as an album track. The cover image that was in the infobox was in fact learly an advert for a scent. The All Music Guide has no mention of this as anything but an album track. The only source seems to be the one given, which is to a somewhat obscure commerical site — which uses the scent advertisement as the cover image... --Mel Etitis (Talk) 17:13, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please stop simply reverting to your version (complete with errors in the rest of the article) without discussion here. That there's a vido of the song doesn't mean that it was released as a single. Please provide a genuine source for the claim.
If it was released as a promotional single by the scent company, that may or may not count; I'll check at the WikiProject. In any case, though, given the lack of information on the Web, it's pretty obviously not a notable recording, and deserves a single line along with all the other cover versions. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 09:56, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Multiple articles

edit

This is seven articles rolled into one, it needs to be split up. Most of these show little evidence of any notability (e.g. reviews and coverage). A disambiguation page (e.g. the one that already exists) is the best place to deal with multiple occurrences of the same thing. Sionk (talk) 22:46, 20 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

WP:NSONG says that "Songs with notable cover versions are normally covered in one common article about the song and the cover versions", and in fact I don't know of any example where a cover version has a separate article from the original. –anemoneprojectors15:50, 21 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
