Champions 2014? League Two?

edit

The article states the club won the 2013-14 Football Conference season and earned promotion to Football League Two. The Football Conference website and the BBC state the league was actually won by Luton Town F.C., and Woking finished 9th. Even Wikipedia articles contradict this claim of Woking finishing 1st. 90.208.82.1 (talk) 18:38, 11 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Wokingfc shield.gif

edit

Image:Wokingfc shield.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Isn't this rather a longish nickname? Can you cite some source for it? --Christomir (talk) 08:55, 13 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Woking FC ground should be called 'Laithwaite Community Stadium (formerly Kingfield Stadium)' 51.52.107.167 (talk) 12:25, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi, here on Wikipedia we generally avoid using sponsored names where possible. Thanks. Kosack (talk) 13:05, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response, but even Woking FC's own website refers to the club being registered at the Laithwaite Community Stadium, so it is the legal name of it. Given this, I think Wikipedia should be edited to reflect its current legally registered name. Thank you51.52.107.167 (talk) 13:30, 28 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Information to be added or removed: Laithwaite Community Stadium should be referenced as Woking FC's home ground; it is no longer the Kingfield Stadium Explanation of issue: Laithwaite Community Stadium is the legally registered name of the ground and has been for some years References supporting change: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/03329172 51.52.107.167 (talk) 12:27, 8 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

   Unable to implement

  • The provided reference states the Community Stadium as the "registered office address". The language used in the edit request refers to this location as the "home ground". However, a reference has not been provided stating that the terms "home ground" and "office address" are equivalent in this context.
