External link to Gallery Athena
editWe are a local, Wolfville art gallery directly across the street from Harvest Gallery (also listed). We have been in business for 3 years and have recenty re-located to Wolfville from Annapolis Royal, NS. Gallery Athena represents only Canadian artists, with the majority of artists being from Nova Scotia. We allow only handmade, non-production, artwork in our gallery. Jo Anne Kittell, a partner at Gallery Athena, is a local metalsmith (jeweller)who works in sterling silver and niobium.
I respectfully submit that we meet the external link guidelines in the same manner as the other business listed for Wolfville. I do not feel that this is spamming. We support fair trade and have the highest artist commissions available. We represent over 40 Canadian artists with visual arts, woodturning, glass and contemporary jewellery. While we do have a an ecommerce website, we are a full brick and mortar business.

I would submit that if we do not meet the external link guidelines, nor should Harvest Gallery which is also a private, commercial, for profit gallery. The only difference between the two being the selection of artists and works being offered.

- I have since cleaned up the links and removed the ones that were not directly connected to the Town of Wolfville - techietim (talk) 15:24, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, I am a little disappointed but that does seem fair and I thank you for your time. Will you also change the plug for Harvest Gallery in the actual Wolfville text? There are so many artists in Nova Scotia that many of us represent. The Alex Colville entry should be limited to the fact that he resides here. Gkittell (talk) 15:37, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Nickname
editHas anybody anywhere, ever, used the nickname "First Fair Trade Town"? "Wuffle", "Home of the Duck Pond" or "Birkenstock Capital of Nova Scotia" might be more appropriate. Modal Jig (talk) 12:27, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
