broad-concept article

edit

This dab page was created after it was proposed by several people at Talk:WWE Women's Championship (1956–2010)#Requested move 16 September 2016. I do not think a broad concept article would work, everything is already covered in WWE Diva and Professional wrestling championship#Gender championships.LM2000 (talk) 13:00, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • Per WP:DABCONCEPT, a disambiguation page is for ambiguously titled unrelated concepts, like mercury, the element, and Mercury, the planet, or battery, the device, and battery, the criminal act. If it is possible to describe a relationship between the terms included on the page, then they are not ambiguous. Rather, they are variations of the broad concept, and the reader is better served by an explanation of this relationship. Perhaps what would work best here is a set index article, with a table comparing categories of information. bd2412 T 13:16, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
    • Some expansion into an SIA may be appropriate. But there really isn't a single primary topic among the disambiguation links here. All 4 of the listed titles are to some extent equivalent, just representing different periods in company history. None are fully primary over the other, and if anything is the main topic, it's the two articles LM2000 mentioned. Though the WWE Diva one should probably be renamed, as the term wasn't first used until the late attitude era (c 2000 or so) and was dropped like a rock last year, meaning it is only appropriate for maybe 15 years out of a 50 year company history. A more general title like "Women in WWE" is more appropriate. oknazevad (talk) 13:22, 4 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Intro says WWE "has maintained at least one primary women's championship since 1956". That's not really true, is it? They didn't own Moolah's belt till the 80s, before that they may have recognized her as NWA Women's champion but that's not quite the same as actually maintaining her championship.LM2000 (talk) 07:36, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Its a pretty meaningless statement overall since they have breaks twice in 90s also. - Galatz גאליץשיחה Talk 13:17, 6 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Include or not

edit

Should the women's tag team championships be included in here? What about the two FCW women's championships? - Galatz גאליץשיחה Talk 14:10, 16 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
