Thanks for the article
One point though ... is it credible that anyone would name a project "How to pick up more women"? That sounds more like the initial name for a talk at Wikimania .... which it was. Rosie and I went with that title but changed it before it was presented. "Women in Red" was first named "Project XX", but that offended some people. The name "Women in Red" was devised by T.Anthony for his work and suggested by me for the new project. The references for this are the 2015 Wikimania talk by Rosie and I. I can find the url if you need help. Roger aka Victuallers (talk) 23:26, 27 November 2017 (UTC)
Given that Women in Red is now the most active WikiProject then I think this is important. Can someone fix this please as it will be repeated based on this article. Victuallers (talk) 08:18, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, Roger. I launched the article based on the reliable secondary sources that were available to me. This blurb was based on the reliable source that is footnoted to that blurb. Is there a secondary source that we can use to overrule the initial secondary source? Ping me back! Having fun! Cheers!

03:41, 10 December 2017 (UTC)- Thanks @Checkingfax: - I think the source I would point to is this one. OK it is a Wikimania publication (not us). It is the presentation that was given. I think there is a video too and the record of the talk as it was written. As you can see on the first page there is an XX logo. That was the initial name of the project and the talk was called "Content Gender Gap - how to improve the coverage of women on Wikipedia". The first name of "Picking Up Women" was intended to gather attention to the talk ... and that worked (and I gathered Rosie as a co-speaker!). It was a featured presentation in Mexico and this picture shows me and Rosie presenting it. Thank you for your work. I like your choice of name! - Checkingfax is very apt. Do tell if we can tell you more. Got to get back to working on our Twitter feed which together with our Pinterest and Facebook pages keeps up our profile outside the WikiProject proper. - Hi, Roger. Randy Kryn has y'alls covered! He already made the edit. PS: I launched a couple of more non-male articles. Having fun! Cheers!

Equity idea
Hi friends, I've been thinking about this for months, and finally got to the point of sharing an idea to make a fairer Wikipedia.
My idea for equity guidance is here, please take a look and help me refine it:

How to join
Is there any way I could join the wp DON'T CRY BY GUN'S N ROSES (talk) 00:00, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Absolutely! Check out Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members. Please keep in mind that this is an important project and requires the highest levels of adherence to many Wikipedia rules, guidelines and procedures, knowledge of canonical article naming, how to use Wikidata, and so on. These must be high quality articles and done properly or it is a disservice to the goals here, in my opinion. So please be prepared to do some deep studying of Wikipedia procedures and careful work here. —DIYeditor (talk) 00:09, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Youngest PhD ever. A bunch of coverage at graduation: [1], [2], [3]. Can anyone find anything from earlier or since that would help demonstrate sustained and lasting interest and prevent a new article from being deleted on WP:BLP1E grounds? ~Kvng (talk) 16:18, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
