Filming

edit

It's purported to begin in March. Couldn't remember off the top of my head if CBR is a usable source so putting it here for now Wonder Man's MCU Series Starts Filming in March 2023 (cbr.com) Rusted AutoParts 17:52, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

CBR itself is a generally reputable source when it doesn't report on rumors or leaks, which we'd have to be cautious of. In this instance, they are reporting from Production Weekly's recent listing, and as such, this can be used. I did see sites referring to STV Plus's listing for this info before the PW info, though STV is considered unreliable. I've added the info from CBR. Since it's the last day of March, should we move this to the mainspace today or tomorrow? - Richiekim (talk) 21:21, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Don't we generally wait for confirmation that it has indeed started before moving to mainspace? —El Millo (talk) 21:37, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, we need to wait for confirmation that it's actually filming before moving the draft. -- ZooBlazertalk 22:22, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
"Late March" could easily translate into the first few weeks of April. With all this casting coming out, it definitely appears that filming in imminent. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:08, 31 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
The TVLine source for Grim Reaper said filming begins this spring, so filming is near. Trailblazer101 (talk) 00:35, 1 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Cretton just confirmed it started filming. Can move this now MarioProtIV (talk/contribs) 17:34, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
We still need a source in the article. Also, I have yet to see any article of where this information was from. Trailblazer101 (talk) 17:50, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
This is from Cretton's Instagram. Agree that it's still not definitive proof yet. - Richiekim (talk) 18:48, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
That could still be prep work with setup, and since Cretton did not say they were filming yet, any implication on our part from this post alone would be WP:OR. Filming does appear to be very near, though. Trailblazer101 (talk) 20:00, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
WP:NORUSH. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:07, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

On Location Vacations (which used to have a site, and now might only be twitter based?) is noting that Callback (the working title) is filming in Los Angeles, tomorrow April 5. Original Google Doc chart here, source (not the best) here. I'm going to add the Covered Geekly source to the draft, and we should move it tomorrow. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:36, 4 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Nice find, Favre! If another more preferable site picks up on this, we can obviously swap the ref. Trailblazer101 (talk) 15:03, 4 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  Moved - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:15, 5 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Miniseries

edit

I've been looking to a confirmation of Wonder Man being a Miniseries. Deadline referes to it as a series with a Showrunner (unlike every shows before Daredevil Born Again). Since marvel is departing away from Miniseries to do multi season TV shows is it safe to say Wonder Man is a Miniseries? There was consensus per Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film/Marvel Cinematic Universe task force/Archive 3#Miniseries disambiguation that since Marvel Studios was intending to develop each series as "events", they fell under the miniseries criteria until proven otherwise. We now know the head writer is actually a showrunner, though we do not know if that changes its classification, as some miniseries or limited series can still have a showrunner. It is slated to have 10 episodes, though we should still wait and see on what actually eventuates before changing it. Trailblazer101 (talk) 20:41, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Deadline referes to Andrew Guest as the Showrunner though, and Marvel changed their TV production methods to step away from " Event" TV Series. Nils2088 (talk) 20:54, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Just because of those we cannot automatically assume the series's classification as a "miniseries" has changed as a result. That would be WP:SYNTH. We'll need a source stating such a change. Trailblazer101 (talk) 20:58, 15 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
A miniseries can still have a showrunner if it will just be that set amount of episodes. Having a showrunner does not mean it now isn't a miniseries. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:50, 16 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Reliable of source and contradiction

edit

So Deadline reported that the show will continue production by the end of the month, but the wikipedia article cites another source that says that it's actually going through an overhaul and that it can get scrapped at any moment. That's kinda confusing isn't it? Is the source reliable enough to be put at the same level as Deadline? Nils2088 (talk) 22:41, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

We have two sources for the reported restart in production from journalist Joanna Robinson and John Rocha, both of whom are subject-matter experts. Deadline doesn't know or report on everything. Trailblazer101 (talk) 23:16, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
How reliable John Rocha compared to Deadline? Also arent the reports conflicting? They're restarting production in a couple days while re working the series? Nils2088 (talk) 18:49, 21 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Marvel is known for changing things largely up until the last minute at times on many of their series, and is currently restarting their new Daredevil show almost from scratch, so it's not like this is something out of the blue or brand new for them. Rocha is a pundit represented by SAG-AFTRA, a Rotten Tomatoes Approved Critic, the CEO of TheOutlawNation, a board member of the Hollywood Critics Association (cite), and a host of The Hot Mic podcast with fellow SME Jeff Sneider, a journalist. Rocha has been cited in several articles on the news he and Sneider report collectively on their podcast and elsewhere. The fact that we have differing reports is not that they are necessarily contradictory, though rather some provide more specifications. Rocha is backing up the prior report from journalist and MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios author Joanna Robinson from October, so to say his report is somehow unreliable because of him being a WP:SELFPUBLISHED source and because of the contextualization of a project not working would make me question the integrity of our transparency and neutrality because they report something some may not agree with or like.
