World Championship in Composing for Individuals

Although people might find the argument about individual vs. team championship compelling, World Championship in Composing for Individuals is an official name of the competition. See official page. Please, consider seriously moving things back. --Ruziklan (talk) 20:22, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

All right then, I will reformulate my argument. There is simply no such thing as World Championship of Chess Composition. The problem is that "chess composition" encompasses two very different activities: composing and solving. As is known, both have their own competitions, titles, etc. and it is properly reflected in the names of competitions. The name of game "chess" might be missing from the competition name, but as far as article is concerned, words chess and/or problem are in the text so that no reader is confused. --Ruziklan (talk) 21:26, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

So, my suggestion to move article back to original name stands. I have supported it by arguments, so if nothing substantial arises, I will try to make move. Same issue we had with FIDE(see here). I suggest the same solution. Move the article to WCCI as currently it's not being used. SunCreator (talk) 22:43, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

This solution would be acceptable from factual point of view as abbreviation WCCI is frequently used in given context, see e.g. page of the recently announced WCCI cycle or forum (where it was clear for anybody initiated what is WCCI). --Ruziklan (talk) 22:57, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

So how many know 'World Championship in Composing for Individuals' - my guess next to none and certainly 'World Championship of Chess Composition' was recently just made up and none will know that. My point is that if a person saw one of those titles, either linked in an article, the See also list, or the index of chess articles, they would at least have some idea of what it was. Anything that links to the article can is appropriate be reworded in the w-link. The index of chess articles issue I would call real but so tiny as not to be an issue. If you wanted to find this article you'd either come via a link, wikipedia search or google, all of which will be fine. Given the two alternatives this is certainly my favoured option.
