I was the lead programmer on this game. It did not use MP3 audio. It used a custom tracker player. I think the format used .xm files as input but I don't remember if we munged them at all when making the actual rom data. I dunno if this info is written in any referenceable material, so I dunno if I should change the article, but I thought I should at least mention it.
