Number of dead civilians in Hungary
The number given in the text, 264,000, cannot be correct. In 1944, 565,000 jewish Hungarians were extracted from the country and gassed in Auschwitz. Source: http://www.holocaust-chronologie.de/artikel/teil-1-voelkermord-an-ungarns-juden.html.
Wikipedia, in the entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Holocaust#Jews gives a number of 559,250 killed Hungarian jews.
