Changing from 'is' to 'was' in the lead
editHello everyone, since the show Wowowin has now ended, is there a necessary to keep it in past tense since some editors keep changing it to past tense despite having "that was" in the lead. I've understud and read the MOS:TVNOW and it stated there, "In the case of some defunct non-fiction and live programs, most production and broadcast information should be referred to in past tense. However, the program's existence should still be in present tense (e.g. "The Afternoon Show is a British talk show which was broadcast by Channel 1 between 2008 and 2011. The program was hosted by Susan Jones and John Smith and recorded in London...").". Does anyone agrees to change it back to 'is' or keep it to 'was' instead? Thanks! - @VictorTorres2002: according to MOS:TENSE, it states that: "By default, write articles in the present tense, including those covering works of fiction and products or works that have been discontinued. However, articles about periodicals that are no longer being produced should normally, and with commonsense exceptions, use the past tense. Generally, do not use past tense except for past events, subjects that are dead or no longer meaningfully exist, or periodicals and similar written material that are no longer being produced. Tense can be used to distinguish between current and former status of a subject with emphasis added to distinguish the different tense usages". In most cases like MOS:TVNOW, it is in par with MOS:TENSE that is required to use present tense instead of past tense. In my opinion, I think present tense is the usage of the article. - I'm sorry to inform, that isn't the place for that. "Win" or better known as Kuya Will/Willie Revillame, as far as I know, he isn't using Wikipedia to communicate with people who might need his help. Hotwiki (talk) 14:33, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
