Photo
editPhoto might have been taken by Lorin. We know that he took some snaps in N.Carolina. Lorin may also have taken the photo of Flyer III's first takeoff, in which two other standing men appear (who I speculated—reasonably, I think—are Wilbur and Charlie.) That leads me to speculate Lorin took this photo. I even have a very vague recollection of reading somewhere that he took it, but my speculation and dim memory in this case are much too weak to add such information to the article. I'd recommend the caption say: "...possibly taken by Lorin Wright or Charlie Taylor...." Or, just not say anything in caption about who took it. DonFB (talk) 16:51, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- yes I thought about Lorin too as photographer especially as he probably is the cameraman for Flyer 3's first flight. But basically Orville in "How We Invented The Airplane" doesn't talk too much of Lorin's involvement in the 1904 trials or of him being at Huffman in the Spring of that year when they were first setting up. Taylor almost certainly would've been there to aid in setting up the hangar, the machine and most importantly the installation of the engine for which he built. As for the Flyer 3 photograph of June 23 it could've been taken by Katharine but I doubt it. But it's fair to say 'possibly' so I'll change it to that. Koplimek (talk) 21:14, 18 November 2008 (UTC)
External link needs work
editThe existing link Information on the early Wright aircraft is no longer active, but redirects to another part of the aeroflight.co.uk website. Their info on the Wright Flyers is now here. As to the Flyer II, their website doesn't seem to me to be as good as the Wikipedia article. But I'm not going to remove this "External link" because I expect Wikipedia to have editors who can do a better job than I can -- editors who know a lot more about Wright-built aircraft than I do.
