I discovered that Wrights was a ghost town while researching the National Weather Service cooperative station, which closed in 1986. I soon learned that the community itself had declined after the Southern Pacific railroad ceased operations through Wrights in 1940. The rerouting of the highway between Santa Cruz and Los Gatos in the 1940s added to the decline of Wrights and other small communities. In addition, two communities were obliterated by the construction of the Lexington Reservoir when Los Gatos Creek was dammed. I plan to research the other four ghost towns mentioned in the article. Wikipedia already has an article on Holy City, a once-thriving incorporated town nearby.Sallyrob (talk) 14:15, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
