Dr. Wu Ningkun (巫宁坤) returned to China in 1951, not in 1949. He was invited to accept an academic position at Yenching University in Beijing, which was at that moment not yet merged into Beijing University. He was not accused of being an American spy but was labeled an "ultra-rightist" in the anti-rightist campaigns of the mid and late '50s, and ultimately condemned to "thought reform through hard labor" in 1958. Patchouli, what do you mean by:

"His experiences were somewhat the opposite of what Tsien Hsue-shen went through during the Red Scare in the United States." ?
