Coords =
editCould some one add the co-ordinates of this using One of the {{coor title d}} series templates please? Pit-yacker 21:03, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Can't quite do that, but the postcode is "SK6 8HB" which will get you a pretty accurate location when put into http://www.streetmap.co.uk which you might be able to take further - AG, Stockport.
I'm a neighbour and I've fine-tuned the co-ordinates so that they're spot on. - MB, Stockport. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.176.157.44 (talk) 18:09, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
John Bradshaw's Birthplace?
editA blue plaque placed by Stockport Heritage Trust on the outer wall of the Somerfield garage supermarket in Marple reads: "Close by, at a farm called "The Place", was born John Bradshawe, Lord President of the High Court of Justice, who condemned King Charles I to death, January 1649, at the conclusion of the Second Civil War". Though closely associated with Wyberslegh Hall, he does not seem to have been born there - AG, Stockport.
- Welcome to Wikipedia, AG. If you had a static IP or an account, I would put the following on your talk page. As you are dynamic, I'll put it here. Regards and good wiki-ing Mr Stephen 22:11, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

- I've actually made quite a few changes to Wikipedia, but all have been when I was certain of my facts. I would like to verify the information on that blue plaque before changing the main Wyberslegh Hall page, so I put my findings on the discussion page. Anyone who knows more than me about this, please go ahead! - AG, Stockport.
- The Bradshaw(e) plaque is here too. AG - why not get yourself an account? Mr Stephen 16:43, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Because I don't want to and, for now at least, the way Wikipedia is set up means I don't have to. (This reply is meant to be factual, not personally antagonistic.) - AG, Stockport.

After more than 30 years of neglect, Wyberslegh Hall is currently being restored - AG, Stockport, August 2007.
- Hi. Thanks for your help with location and images. Unfortunately, for various reasons Wikipedia can only allows us to use copyright free images. So the image can only be used if the creater his/her permission for it to be used in such a manner. If you are the person who took any of these pictures and would like to contribute them, then please feel free to upload the image or feel free to ask a registered member (either me, or I guess someone else involved on this page) for help with this.
- I'm all too aware myself that dealing with image licensing is the most difficult thing to learn about contributing to Wikipedia and definitely a barrier to some people contributing. However, I guess it is something that is necessary to give, what is a charity, some legal protection against being sued by the owner of an image. Hope this helps and thanks again for your help Pit-yacker 22:46, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Greetings Pit-yacker, I wasn't suggesting that we put those images onto Wikipedia. (As an academic who has had to sign away much of my own writing to publishers to get it into the public domain I know all about copyright!) So I just put the URLs up here. Feel free to promote these hyperlinks onto Wyberslegh's main page. Best regards, AG, Stockport.
Name
editWhy is this article entitled Wyberslegh Hall, rather than Wybersley? I note that on Ordnance Survey maps it is labelled Wybersley, as well as local blue plaques. Furthermore, a Google search for 'Wybersley Hall' turns up 1,970 results, whereas 'Wyberslegh Hall' returns only 827. Should consideration be given to changing it?
