Beretta 93R in contention?

I find this highly unlikely due to the fact that select-fire pistols are a niche market and the function really has no real practical use, especially with how the military today discourages the use of burst or automatic fire in anything but the suppression fire role (and I find the idea of a pistol being used in such a role to be laughable at best). Then there's also the obvious matter that you might as well be replacing the M9 with another M9. If the source used to verify its supposed consideration wasn't nonexistent, I'd be questioning its credibility. In addition to that, Google brings up nothing with MHS and the 93R in the same sentence except this wiki page. Spartan198 (talk) 02:12, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

Sig P320 a contender?

Sig Sauer is entering the competition as well. They're competing with the Sig P320. It's a completely modular handgun with a removable and interchangeable serialized fire control group that can let a user swap both calibers and frame/slide sizes.

Requirements for the US Army Program include: + Ambidextrous Thumb Safety + Ambidextrous Slide Release + Drop Safety + Loaded Chamber indicator + Captured Firing Pin Assembly — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.197.236.4 (talk) 18:46, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

Candidates

I have been adding candidates as I have found mentions to them. Previously someone had listed several companies with weapons and someone else deleted it for lack of citations, which was good. Just a reminder here to not add in candidates unless you have an outside source that you can cite. Grizzly chipmunk (talk) 20:56, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

The whole article needs to be modified, because there's past, present and future language intermixed there.--214.25.29.6 (talk) 20:52, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
